War movie '120 Bahadur' makers launch customised stamp
New Delhi, 14 November 2025 - It's a small square of paper, but it carries a ridge's worth of memory. The team behind 120 Bahadur, a war drama on the Battle of Rezang La, has launched a customised India Post "My Stamp" to honour the soldiers of the 13 Kumaon who held their ground in 1962.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the stamp in the national capital, just days before the battle's 63rd anniversary on November 18. The design nods to the Rezang La War Memorial in Ladakh - quiet stone, clear sky, and a story that still sits heavy.
The film's lead and producer Farhan Akhtar (movies and tv series) stood alongside director Razneesh "Razy" Ghai at the launch. Also present: Director General Postal Services Jitendra Gupta and producers Ritesh Sidhwani (movies and tv series), Amit Chandrra, and Arhan Bagati.
A stamp with weight
Issued by the Department of Posts under its "My Stamp" program, this one isn't just for collectors. It's a tribute to the extraordinary last stand of the 13th Battalion, Kumaon Regiment, during the Battle of Rezang La - a chapter of raw courage that still defines Indian military memory.
The Rezang La-Ahir Dham Memorial in Chushul is the marker on the map - a place that speaks for men who didn't return. Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, and his comrades from 13 Kumaon remain the heart of that story.
Why launch it now?
Because dates matter. Because remembrance needs something you can hold, pass on, and talk about. And because a film about real people and a real fight has to meet that moment with respect first, promotion second.
Here's what this could mean for the movie's rollout:
- A clear promise of tone - reverence over spectacle.
- Closer engagement with veterans' groups and families tied to Rezang La commemorations.
- Public memory leading the conversation before trailers and box office talk.
If you want the formal program details behind initiatives like this, India Post's overview is here: "My Stamp". But the feeling in the room told its own story - a film team choosing to start with gratitude.
Look, cinema can't carry everything. But it can carry names. This stamp does that now, while the film readies to do it on a bigger screen soon.
